Emission hot spot

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) issued an Action Plan in December 2015 for controlling marine emissions in three major regions including Pearl River Delta (PRD) region, in which a domestic emission control area (DECA) will be established in the PRD waters that requires vessels in the area, including in Hong Kong, to use low sulphur fuel not exceeding 0.5% by January 2019. Sapiens Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based sensor sniffing system determines SO2 and CO2 concentrations inside the plume of target ships.
