This project represents a unique cross-border collaboration between the Hong Kong and Shenzhen government environmental authorities. As part of this project, a comprehensive monitoring network was established along the border of the large municipal landfill area. The network included 14 strategically placed air sensors NAS and automated Odour Sampler.

These instruments continuously collected real-time data on odourous compounds and related pollutants (H2S, Methane, NH3, TVOC, CO2), ambient air quality, and meteorological conditions. Data are used to model the origin and dispersal of pollutants from the landfill.
