  • China Harhour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) operates several Transfer Station where various waste materials are processed and transported. As part of maintaining a safe and healthy working environment, it is crucial to monitor the levels of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and ammonia (NH3) concentrations at the waste transfer site. H2S is a highly toxic gas with a characteristic foul odor, while NH3 is known for its pungent smell and potential health hazards.

To ensure the safety of workers and nearby communities, the China Harbour Engineering Company Limited has commissioned Sapiens Environmental Technology Co Limited to provide a total of five odour monitoring systems, two in West Kowloon Transfer Station (WKTS) and three in Island West Transfer Station designed locations. The monitoring of H2S, NH3 and TVOC concentrations in real-time is critical, aiming to promptly detect any potential leaks or abnormal levels that could pose risks to human health and the environment. This proactive approach aligns with CHEC's commitment to maintaining a responsible and sustainable waste management operation.
